An open-source harness with desktop and phone apps that runs coding sessions across several model vendors on your own hardware, with encrypted sync between devices.
Moving coding sessions between desktop and phone with encrypted sync.
Core features
- Sandboxed runs YesSource
- Diff review Yes
The docs only say Desktop shows changed files beside the conversation, so this quote comes from the desktop app's diff component, which offers unified and split views.
Source - Agent coordination YesSource
- Scheduled tasks Partial
Agents can schedule a one-off message that wakes an agent at a future time. There is no cron or recurring schedule in the docs or the scheduling module.
Source - Event triggers Partial
A bot can be exported to Telegram or another chat service, so a person can dispatch work from chat. Docs and code show no webhook, issue or pull request trigger.
Source - Team collaboration YesSource
- API / CLI control YesSource
Pricing
App is free and MIT. Phone-app voice is the only paid item: 20 free minutes per 30 days, then up to 5 hours per 30 days on an in-app subscription (its App Store page lists one in-app purchase, Plus Monthly at $19.99, though the docs do not name the price). Own ElevenLabs agent has no Happy limit.
Platforms
macOS, Windows, Linux desktop; iOS and Android apps; web client in slopus/happy; original happy CLI (maintenance mode) and happy-agent daemon.
Research notes
Key nuance: by default Happy Agent's own loop runs every model, reusing Claude, Codex and Grok CLI sign-ins, which is a model-level path rather than running those agents. Value is yes because the documented claude_code harness runs Claude Code through the Agent SDK and codex_cli runs Codex through codex app-server, and the original CLI wraps both directly. Those harnesses are not the default path. Own subscriptions apply to both paths: the docs say credentials come from the CLI sign-ins already on the machine. Formerly Happy Coder: the original CLI (happy on npm, formerly happy-coder) is in maintenance mode and new features ship in the desktop app. Code is split across slopus/happy (mobile, web, CLI, relay), slopus/happy-desktop and slopus/happy-agent. The relay carries encrypted sync only; execution stays on your hardware, so cloud is not listed. Grok is listed by the product as a subscription-capable model. The docs URL spelling 'recepies' is the site's own.
